Inspired by the Falcon’s Perch design and adapted to the Cox family's needs, this luxury custom mountain home in Arkansas was reimagined to serve as their primary home.
Featuring a breezeway they couldn't live without once they saw it.
When we first looked at the site, we realized the home would be tucked deep in the woods with total privacy. To take full advantage of that, we flipped the original Falcon’s Perch layout to ensure the landscape is the first thing you see from every single room. This simple but intentional shift gives the home a strong presence and seamless indoor-outdoor living that pulls the outdoors in, making the forest feel like a part of the interior.
We reimagined the arrival to work with the flow of real life. A new two-car garage connects to the house through a light-filled foyer on the breezeway, creating a beautiful transition while keeping the garage separate from the main residence. On the other side, we added a second side entry with its own mudroom that leads straight into the master suite. It’s a layout that understands the need for both a grand entrance and a practical shortcut
Main Floor
The central living space is defined by an open-concept kitchen designed for easy daily living. A massive island anchors the room, flowing right into an eight-person dining area and a vaulted living room anchored by the fireplace, creating a gathering space in this family home design. Between the high ceilings and the massive windows, the whole space just glows with natural light. Outside, the wraparound porch and terrace act as a natural extension of the house, highlighting mountain view living and architectural elegance.
The master bedroom is positioned for privacy and convenience, with immediate access from the secondary mudroom. The design combines comfort and practicality, allowing the family to move easily between indoor spaces, outdoor areas, and daily routines. Every room is oriented to capture the views, reinforcing the idea that the natural landscape is part of the home.
Loft Area
The loft level expands the living experience with a flexible room that offers its own lounge area and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Vaulted ceilings continue on this floor, along with a full bathroom that features a walk-in shower with a built-in bench. This level can adapt to different uses as families grow and change, making it a valuable, future-ready space in your custom home design.
This home offers a balance of comfort, openness, and year-round livability set against the panoramic mountain scenery to celebrate mountain living.
