Janesse's Residence

Leadville, CO - Based on Falcon's Perch Family model

A home for a family of three who live by the mountain calendar. Ben and Janesse chose a long, narrow lot outside Leadville to build a place that has always existed in their minds. A quiet, compact cabin oriented toward the tree line, with abundant natural light and a layout that holds the rhythm of mountain life.

A basecamp for adventures today. A full-time residence tomorrow.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Starting from the Falcon's Perch Family model, the design evolved through a few key customizations: a sleek main cabin designed primarily for two, a breezeway with fireplace that bridges inside and outside, and a detached garage with a flexible loft above for their son in years to come.

"We just really wanted to be in nature. If I could sleep outside, I would. And your design was the closest thing to doing that."

This home began construction in the summer of 2024. Progress continued steadily through the fall, with the goal of enclosing the structure before the onset of winter.

The foundation was completed by early October, and the garage walls began to rise shortly after. By mid-autumn, the roof was nearly finished, and the first windows were installed, framing those mountain views for years to come.
